Bilingual Pay: $100.00 per month paid monthly to qualified employee.
Uniform Allowance: $1,200 per year.
Attendance and Leaves
- Officers assigned to patrol duties work a 3/12 shift.
- Holidays – 96 hours paid holidays per year.
- Vacation – One to four years of service: 80 hours. Five to nine years of service: 120 hours. Ten plus years of service: 128 hrs. up to 160 hrs.
- Sick Leave – Accrued at the rate of 96 hrs. per year. Unused sick leave may be accrued without limit.
- Sick leave “buy-back” program.
Special Assignments/Pay
- Field Training Officer (FTO): Officers serving as FTOs receive an additional 2.5% pay.
- Detective/D.A.R.E./S.R.O.: Officers serving as a Detective, D.A.R.E. or School Resource Officer (SRO) receive an additional 2.5% pay.
- Motorcycle/Bicycle Officer: Officers serving as a motor traffic officer or bicycle officer receive an additional $150.00 per month.
- Senior Officers receive an additional 5% pay.
The MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Open Recruit Testing: High school graduate or have passed the GED test. GED testing must have resulted in an average score of 45 or greater with no test section having a score of less than 35. Not less than 21 years old at the time of appointment with no felony convictions. In possession of and maintain a State of California Class C driver's license. Applicants must be a citizen of the United States or a permanent resident alien who is eligible for and has applied for citizenship. Applicants must be knowledgeable and have the skills, abilities, personal character and mental and physical health to perform the duties of a peace officer in accordance with the examination process.
